The City of Andover MN is an ideal place to live and do business. Andover has become a rapidly growing city in the county of Anoka, and offers an excellent work force and room for businesses to expand. Today, the population is upwards of 27,000. Every year, about 400 new homes are built in Andover. Commecial activities have also increased. The city is marketing a 90 acre development area located south of Bunker Lake Boulevard, and just to the west of Hanson Boulevard, to bring retail, service businesses, offices, and restaurants. Besides having plenty of amenites of its own, Anodver is only about 20 miles north of Minneapolis Minnesota. Andover is served by a full time police department by a contract with the county sheriff’s department, as well as a professional volunteer fire department.
Some people say the town was named for Andover, MA. Others say it was named for an accident in which a steam engine tipped over into a swamp, and “over and over it went”
Andover Homes and Townhomes
Most of the time there are about 200 or so single family Andover homes for sale on the Andover MN MLS, and it is still possible to buy a house under 200 or 225k. Many of these homes are 1.5 story homes built in the 1950’s wth the hardwood floors and not far from Crooked Lake. For other starter home options, there are usually a few 1980’s split- entry homes available. New construction is also a possibility for first time home buyers.
