Lake City should probably be called “Boat City Minnesota.” After all, there is a marina here with about 600 boat slips. The city is an historic Mississippi River town located along the western shores of Lake Pepin. Lake Pepin is an outwash formed by the Mississippi and Chippewa Rivers, and is about three miles wide and 21 miles long.
