Minnesota real estate law clearly states that a homeseller is not required to disclose any “perceived paranormal activity.” That’s probably a good thing. There have been instances where homebuyers brought lawsuits against sellers because they believed the house was haunted. There have also been buyers who thought they were buying a haunted house, and then sought damages when they discovered that no ghosts inhabited the premises!
I tend to be rather skeptical about this sort of thing. However, I have to admit that I have toured a couple of creepy homes that made my skepticism a little shaky. I once visited an abandoned mansion in the northern Minnesota woods that was supposed to have been a Chicago mob hideout and the site of a murder. After visiting it around dusk, I knew this was a place I would not want to stay overnight at. I also admit that I have a strange attraction to large, old abandoned homes. Maybe it’s just curiosity.
For some Halloween season fun, I explored the blogosphere for stories and information about haunted houses. I decided to share the best ones with you here.
