Lutsen Township in Cook County Minnesota boasts all of about 360 residents, according to the 2000 US Census. This might not be a huge population, but it does represent a 50% population increase from the 1990 census. Lutsen is famous for its ski resort area, which is the largest employer in the area. If you purchase one of the Lutsen Lake Superior cabins or other lakeshore properties, you will probably spend your winters skiing at this resort, especially since it is about a close to mountain skiing as you can get in Minnesota. It is also well know for mountain biking, snowmobiling, hunting, fishing, and about any other outdoor sport that can be found in Minnesota. Tourists and passers-by know Lutsen for the Lockport Marketplace Deli and its fabulous breakfast burritos and blueberry pies. Other attractions include Cascade River State Park and Superior National Golf Course.

Lake Superior cabins and Lutsen lakeshore homes are available as both seasonal and year round properties, but keep in mind that there is no reason for not living here through all four beautiful Minnesota seasons.
Prices are a bit soft right now, especially since it is off-season, but rates and selection on Lutsen lake homes are good.
