Price slashed 50%! That’s how that first one in the thumbnail pictures below could be advertised. The celebrated 13 acre estate with 244 feet of lakeshore and panoramic water views of Lake Minnetonka on Brackett’s Point in Orono Minnesota that was listed at the time of this post for a cool 24M is a bargain considering that it was originally listed at 53M. I am sure that it is worth every penny and a bargain at any price, but I bet the appraiser is going to have some difficulty finding good comps. I haven’t done the research, but I am sure that this is one of the most expensive Lake Minnetonka homes ever, if not the entire state.

At Home with Expensive Lake Minnetonka Homes
I probably should have a dictionary at hand when reading these listings of expensive Lake Minnetonka homes, and a French one at that. For example, there is one that has five “en-suites.” I am sure that you guessed that this term has something to do with a master bedroom, but according to the dictionary built into my Mac, an en suite is:
“(of a bathroom) immediately adjoining a bedroom and forming part of the same set of rooms.
• [as adj. ] (of a bedroom) having such a bathroom.
ORIGIN late 18th cent. (in the sense [in agreement or harmony] ): from French, literally ‘in sequence.”
When you tour some of these expensive Lake Minnetonka homes, you should also bring an art appreciation book with you so you can admire the statuary and make intelligent remarks about the influence of the Italian Renaissance. A book of who’s who’ in residential architecture would also be handy, especially if you feel out of your element when polite company starts talking about Romaldo Giurgola.
