You probably came to this site to search the Minneapolis MLS. I hate to disappoint you. You can look at just about every Twin Cities house for sale on the Multiple Listing Service, but you can’t really search the MLS.
Please note that Northstar Regional MN MLS does not allow its member agents to have web buttons or links that say “Search the Minneapolis MLS“ on their websites. Interestingly, large out-of-state internet entities can still say things like “Minneapolis MLS Finder,” or “Search the Twin Cities Real Estate MLS Here!” Local brokers are forbidden by the Northstar Regional MLS to do so, although they do it all the time. We must say things like “Free list of Minneapolis real estate for sale!” or “Search Minneapolis homes for sale.”
Searching for Minneapolis Real Estate for Sale?
The “MLS” search feature you find on all Minneapolis real estate websites actually is called the “IDX.” All consumer sites use the same feed of property listings provided by the Northstar Regional MLS. There are some technical distinctions between IDX and the Minneapolis MLS as well as some minor differences in the data sets. For the consumer, this nit-picking parsing of terms does not mean very much. It is sort of like “picking fly poop out of the pepper.”However, if you want to see the Minneapolis MLS exactly the way that REALTORS see it, give me a call and I can send you as many Multiple Listing Service properties listed on the Northstar Regional MLS as you wish. The important point is that you can find almost all Minneapolis homes for sale that are currently listed on the Minneapolis MLS. If you are looking for Minneapolis real estate, you will find it here. I am not aware of any local realty companies that exclude their MN homes listings from the IDX. Also, I can email to you all MN MLS listings in the exact format that Minneapolis REALTORS use. The IDX system is essentially a watered-down version of the MLS, but we can provide comprehensive information about sales history, days on market, competition, and more.
