New Brighton Minnesota enjoys a convenient location almost exactly in between downtown Minneapolis and Downtow St. Paul. This city of 22000+ residents is only about a 30 minute ride from the MSP airport, and sits at the intersection of 35W and 694. This beautiful area was once yielded bountiful wild rice harvests by Native Americans, but the citizens still take pride in maintaining the natural beauty of the area with an extensive park and lake system. The cty lacks large shopping malls, but this quiet residential community more than makes up for that with its easy access to all major metro routes.
City motto: ” The City that Works for You!” I’m not sure what that means, but maybe you can quit your job now!
In the mid 1850’s, the region was settled by English and French looking for farm homesteads. The event that led to the founding of New Brighton was the establishment of the Minneapolis Stockyards and Packing Company in 1888. Soon after that the area was dotted by slaughtering houses, hide houses, and rendering plants. Housing and hotels followed quickly. But an economic slowdown, competition from South St. Paul, and a number of suspicious fires marked the end of the cattle industry in New Brighton. But New Brighton still celebrates New Brighton Stockyard Days, in honor of the industry that gave the town its start.

Types of New Brighton MN Real Estate

Most of these are offered in the 200-300k price range. For a little more money, you may be able to find a lakeshore home on Long Lake.
