New Hope Minnesota was once a sleepy but rich farming community in the 1900’s. In fact, the, residents of the New Hope area broke away from the City of Crystal because they were opposed to paying taxes for things like street light projects and public sewer. But the invevitable could not be avoided. In 1953 New Hope was incorporated to stop the loss of more land and residents to annexation by Crystal. There were 600 residents at the time. But by now, farmers were a minority. Rapid growth in commercial and residential real estate continued through the 60’s and 70’s. By 1998 there were over 21,000 residents.

New Hope MN Real Estate Sales

According to Northstar Regional MLS real estate statistics, 62 single family home sales closed during the second half of 2006. Average sale price was $235,089, with an average year-built of 1966 and an average square footage of 1862. Eight of these were houses built in the 50’s and 60’s and were priced under 200k. Homes in New Brighton are still affordable. Few home sales in New Hope exceed 300k. Ninety four townhomes and condo sales closed during that time period, with an average sale price of $207,510.
