Water quality measures only 1.8 feet deep, but the big fish don’t seem to mind. Average walleye sizes is 2.7 pounds, and the lake is continually stocked with more. Northern pike average a healthy 2.4 pounds and like to eat sucker minnows. Other predator fish like walleye and bass are also above average in size, although below average in numbers. Most people who know this lake say that walleyes will hit on leeches and minnows around the islands, and then drop down to about 15 feet during the day, and hang out just south of the fishing pier. Bass are found in the different coves along the weedbeds from time to time, and flashy jigs with
pork rind, or bright plastic worms do the trick. Panfish are found in every cove and bay on this lake, and the usual waxworms on a small hook do the trick. The kids love this lake because the sunnies and crappies are a little small, but very abundant and are easy to catch.
