Red Rock Lake might be only 92 acres and 16 feet deep at the most, secchi disk tests indicate that the lake has a clarity of over ten feet. The lake also boasts some above average fish sizes. Bluegill sunfish and black crappies tend to be large in this lake. There are also some illegally stocked northern pike in this lake that have thrived here because of yellow perch to feed on. It is important to note that in 2002 the Red Rock Lake Sportsman’s Association stocked 1500 yearling walleyes. There is also a respectable large mouth bass population. Those bucketmouths are probably eating the yellow perch as well. (Who likes perch, anyway?) DNR sampling also turned up black and brown bullheads averaging about a foot in length.

The City maintains a public access with a concrete ramp at the southeast corner of the lake.
Red Rock Lake Homes
Of course, with limited shoreline, and the high demand nature of Eden Prairie real estate and Minnesota lake homes in general, home purchase opportunities will always be limited. However, if you act quickly, you may be able to grab a nice rambler built in the mid 80’s for under 500K. Most homes here are more upscale; according to the Northstar Regional MLS statistics, there there are four single family homes currently available at an average price of $1,239,475. Housing selections on this lake generally include upscale Boulder Pointe estates that were built in the 1990’s and are priced upwards of $1M.
